ICOM Costume Annual Conference Cancelled in June 2020

Dear ICOM Costume Members, Friends and Colleagues from all parts of the Globe,

The serious crisis of the Covid19 virus we all encounter at the moment around the globe makes it too risky to hold our next annual conference and general assembly in June 2020 at Versailles.

In order to keep everyone safe and healthy, and under the circumstances, the decision has been made to cancel the dates of 29 June-‐3 July 2020. We’ll aim to work on another plan and set up new dates for the conference as soon as the situation will allow us to do so: the authorisation to travel and to cross borders, the reopening of museums and public places, etc.

At this stage we cannot make any other plan, as we do not know for sure how this situation will evolve over the summer.

The extraordinary diversity of papers proposed for the conference “The Making of Luxury” shall be preserved. Updated information about the conference will be posted within the coming months here.

Please take care of yourself, keep safe and healthy -‐ this is the most sincere and precious wish I make in the time being.

So very much looking forward to seeing you all again!
