DRESS.CODE. Collection stories unvealed Exhibition

Hasselt Fashion Museum celebrates the beauty of lives lived through an exhibition running until 9 May 2021

For its latest exhibition, the Hasselt Fashion Museum delved into its own extensive collection of nearly 18,000 objects. One hundred and seventy items of clothing were selected. Sixty objects unveal their stories. Coats, skirts, gloves, and hats form a tangible testament to individual histories and lives lived. Using five themes or ‘codes’, ‘DRESS.CODE.’ explores stories of beauty, hope, confidence, class, and lifestyle. In response to the current reality that has forced us to turn inward, we are even more committed to providing our visitors with a cultural experience and a safe space with room for self-development, inspiration, and imagination. The ‘Crack the code’ course challenges families to solve a museum theft. The workshops and the tours were inspired by the unique biographies of the objects, all of which are inextricably linked to beauty, memories, and adventures.

The exhibition opens on 1 October 2020 and runs until 9 May 2021.
