ICOM brings together experts from museum specialties through 31 International Committees. Members of ICOM choose to participate in an international committee that corresponds to their interest. Each committee serves as a forum to define professional standards, share scientific information, establish partnerships with other organizations and develop recommendations for ICOM members. Committees are funded through a subvention from ICOM corresponding to the number of current dues paying members.

Members of the Costume Committee must be members of ICOM.

It is very easy to join ICOM Costume:

First step: Please contact ICOM Paris or manage your affilation to our Committee via the IRIS Database: https://icom-museum.force.com (further instructions below)

Second step: If you are already an ICOM member, please fill out the form on our ‘Contact Us’ page and let us know that you would like to become a member of the Costume Committee. Please make sure to include your first and last name, national committee, ICOM number and your organization. Then we will add you to our e-mailing list.

Please note:

The new ICOM membership management tool, called IRIS, is a long-term project, launched in April 2016 and available for all key users since September 2017. It is a Salesforce CRM (Customer Relationship Management) adapted to our needs and expectations. By providing structure for our entire organization, it aims to:
• Improve the quality and transmission of member information by reducing manual entries
• Simplify membership and dues management by automating operations
• Ensure smoother communication in the network, by sharing a single system
• Manage your affiliation of an International Committee

For these reasons, all the ICOM members can access their own personal information. The IRIS database is also connected to the new ICOM website, through the member personal portal. The login process is very simple: to log in for the first time, use the emailaddress (that you use for ICOM correspondence) as the username. Create your account with a new personal password and confirm your personal information in IRIS; then, every time you wish to access your personal portal, log in with your password.
